Today (May 11, 2025), the atmosphere in HatYai was vibrant with the faith of many Buddhists celebrating Vesak Day. Numerous temples held candlelight processions to mark this significant Buddhist occasion, commemorating the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Lord Buddha. There was a noticeable influx of participants from the early evening onwards.
At Wat Khlong Rian, one of HatYai's prominent temples, a large number of people gathered to circle the ordination hall with candles in hand. The temple was illuminated by the soft glow of candlelight creating a serene atmosphere. Surrounding the temple, stalls selling food, snacks, drinks, and various items contributed to the lively yet orderly setting, warmly accommodating all who came to participate in the procession.
