HatYai, Songkhla – Fruit lovers have something to cheer about in HatYai this season! The local markets in HatYai are bursting with color and choice, thanks to the arrival of fresh rambutan and mangosteen from the East of Thailand, especially from the lush orchards in Chanthaburi province. These tropical delights are now making their way directly to market stalls for eager shoppers to enjoy.

This morning (June 9, 2025), a price check revealed that Eastern rambutan and mangosteen are starting from just 50 baht per kilogram, with some stalls offering them at around 60 baht. It’s a fantastic opportunity for tourists and HatYai locals to savor some of the country's popular fruits before anyone else.

According to local vendors, rambutan and mangosteen from the southern region aren’t ready for sale just yet and are expected a little later this season. Predictions also suggest that the southern fruit yield may be lower than usual this year, prompting many to keep a close watch on prices as the southern harvest season approaches.

Last year, during peak harvest, rambutan and mangosteen prices dropped dramatically, with some stalls even offering impressive deals like "5 kilograms for 100 baht", allowing buyers to stock up on quality fresh fruit at bargain rates.

This year, everyone is eagerly waiting to see just how abundant the southern harvest will be—and how low rambutan and mangosteen prices might go once local fruits finally hit the market. Stay tuned for more updates!
