Wat Pa Saeng Tham opens shelter and community kitchen to support HatYai flood victims, mobilizing donations and volunteers from near and far

HatYai/Songkhla – In response to the severe flooding across HatYai District, Songkhla Province, Wat Pa Saeng Tham has swiftly set up a community kitchen and a temporary shelter to provide ongoing relief for flood-affected residents.
Since 22 November, the temple has been distributing relief bags, mats, mattresses, pillows, and blankets to affected families, while opening its grounds to house evacuees and ensuring meals and essential supplies are available.
This relief effort has been made possible by the compassion and generosity of many partners both in Thailand and abroad. Wat Pa Saeng Tham wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the following:
- Monastic community and practitioners: Revered teachers and monastics from across Thailand and Malaysia who sent supplies, second-hand clothing, and financial support.
- Private sector and corporations: Asian Palm Oil Public Company Limited and Siam Nakharin Co., Ltd.
- Rescue and transport teams: A jet ski team from Phuket (10 units), along with trucks from Krabi and Phuket.
- Medical team: Dr. Piyoros and team from Bangkok.
- International supporters: A logistics company and Ms. Dao (coordinator) who delivered relief items from Malaysia to those in need.
- Volunteers and caregivers: Every volunteer, including the kitchen teams, who have devoted their time to care for evacuees and prepare meals throughout this period.
Wat Pa Saeng Tham extends its deepest thanks for the kindness and concern shown to flood-affected communities. May the Triple Gem bless everyone with happiness and prosperity. Sadhu
