Warning: Dangerous Pothole on Songkhla Lake Road Near Ban Khok Rai City Forest Entrance

Songkhla: Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution when traveling along Tinsulanon Road, inbound to Songkhla, adjacent to Songkhla Lake and near the entrance to the Ban Khok Rai city forest. A sizable pothole, located dangerously close to the centerline of the road, has caused incidents where drivers have unexpectedly hit the hazard, nearly resulting in serious accidents.
According to a concerned local, the pothole—approximately the width of an adult’s arm span and of significant depth—led to their vehicle being jolted violently upon impact. The resident shared anxiety about the risk posed to fellow road users, particularly during nighttime or heavy rains, when visibility is low and the hazard is difficult to spot.
"It was terrifying. I was just driving along when suddenly my car plunged into the hole with a loud bang. The impact was severe, though I was lucky to keep control. If it had been a motorcycle or if the car was speeding, the results could have been disastrous," the affected driver recounted.
Initial inspections confirm the pothole is large enough to damage tires or destabilize drivers, especially given its position near the lane divider, which limits a driver's ability to avoid it. There is a heightened risk of crossing into oncoming lanes or colliding with other vehicles. Local residents are urgently calling for relevant authorities to inspect and repair the pothole as soon as possible to prevent further incidents and ensure road safety for everyone.
