Experience the Refreshing Morning Mist atop Khao Kho Hong – A New Dimension in Hatyai

When thinking of mist-shrouded vistas, many people imagine the mountainous north. Yet, few realize that Hatyai also offers a misty viewpoint equally as enchanting. During the rainy season, the summit of Khao Kho Hong, rising over 300 meters, is often enveloped in a thick layer of mist, creating a refreshing and rare ambiance in southern Thailand.

On some days, the mist is so dense that visibility drops to nearly zero. The best time to bask in this misty spectacle is from early dawn until around 8 or 9 a.m. At the Khao Kho Hong viewpoint, you’ll enjoy sweeping panoramic views of Hatyai’s eastern side, stretching out over Thung Yai, Chana, and Na Mom districts, all the way to the Gulf of Thailand. This breathtaking scenery harmonizes lush forest greenery with the gentle morning mist.

If you’d like to get closer to the mist, you can walk or jog up to the summit. If driving, park near the Pa Nai Muang intersection, then continue on foot for about 1 kilometer. Please note that cars cannot reach the viewpoint due to a damaged road.

Come discover a new perspective of Hatyai atop Khao Kho Hong, and experience nature’s beauty that rivals any northern mountaintop in Thailand!
