The construction site for Hat Yai Hospital 2 has been confirmed. "Siam Kanrin Group" donates 130 rai of land in Ban Phru. "Dech Ism" allocates budget for immediate land development to elevate it to a health city while coordinating with all parties to push the project forward as quickly as possible.
Good news for the people of Songkhla Province after long efforts to construct Hat Yai Hospital 2 due to the increasing number of patients at Hat Yai Hospital every year, with limited space that cannot be expanded any further. Recently, Mr. Dech Ism Khaothong, the Deputy Minister of Public Health, personally surveyed several potential donation sites, including state land, and decided on land in Ban Phru Subdistrict (Ban Rai Municipality), Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, donated by the Siam Kanrin Group, comprising 130 rai. Today (February 6, 2023), a meeting was held at Hat Yai Hospital to discuss the operations of the "Hat Yai Hospital 2 Construction Project", chaired by Mr. Dech Ism Khaothong, along with Ms. Suphaporn Kamnerdphol, a member of the House of Representatives for Songkhla from the Democrat Party, Dr. Chaisit Thepchatree, Director of Hat Yai Hospital, Dr. Somphat Phadungwitthawata, Health Supervisor of Health Region 12, and representatives from various agencies such as the Land Department, Treasury Department, Provincial Electricity Authority, Provincial Waterworks Authority, Department of Groundwater Resources, Department of Highways, Department of Rural Roads, Ban Rai Municipality, and Mr. Jumnong Eawwongcharoen, an executive of the Siam Kanrin Group, who donates 130 rai of land for the construction of Hat Yai Hospital 2.
Mr. Dech Ism Khaothong, the Deputy Minister of Public Health, stated that he has been aware of the overcrowding issue at Hat Yai Hospital for a long time. When he had the opportunity to work, he immediately pushed forward this project in collaboration with all sectors. Previously, there were potential land donors in Tha Chang Subdistrict, Bang Klam District, but faced issues with inheritance land, as it was found that one heir did not sign over the land. Therefore, efforts were made to find new land plots, including donated land and state land. This particular land was offered for donation by Mr. Jumnong long ago, totaling 100 rai, but I requested additional land as I want to develop a health city that includes a nursing college in the area, leading to today's donation of 130 rai from Siam Kanrin. For selecting this land plot, we decided together for several reasons. The area is elevated, ensuring it won't flood. There is no need for a large budget to fill the land, and it is surrounded by nature. It is conveniently located not far from the main road, Kanjanavanich Road (Highway 4), and close to the outer ring road of Hat Yai (Highway 425). Travel is convenient from all routes, and today various agencies have been invited to a meeting to collaborate in making this project happen as quickly as possible. The Ministry of Public Health has already allocated a budget of 92 million baht for land development, and once everything is in place, an official handover ceremony and news briefing will be announced.
