Suan Dhamma Sakol : A Meditation Center for Mindfulness Through Movement

Suan Dhamma Sakol, located in Hat Yai, Songkhla Province, is a meditation center dedicated to spreading the teachings and practice of mindfulness through movement using the "hand-raising rhythmic method" developed by Luang Por Teean Jittasubho, a revered master in dynamic mindfulness.

The Origins of Suan Dhamma Sakol

In late 1985, Luang Por Teean visited the area, then a rubber plantation, to teach Dhamma. This location is now home to Suan Dhamma Sakol, thanks to the generosity of Mr. Thaworn Pongprayoon, who donated the land to establish a meditation center. The center has since become a hub for the teachings of Luang Por Teean, with monks from his lineage guiding practitioners.

Continuing the Teachings

Currently, the center is overseen by Phra Ajahn Sophon Channathammo, who continues to propagate Luang Por Teean’s teachings and mindfulness practices to a new generation of meditators.

Meditation Activities

The center hosts regular meditation retreats every month throughout the year, offering a serene and natural environment for individuals seeking inner peace and personal growth.
